Is All The Bad Publicity About The Watchtower Pedophile Lawsuits Causing Contributions To Nose Dive Worldwide?

i think with all the child molestation lawsuits the watchtower corporation is and has been hit with is the main reason for all the prime property sell off recently.

the silent lambs protest back in 2001, and the dateline prime time expose probably was the death knell for the watchtower's hey day in brooklyn.. their membership is drying up, young people are leaving in droves, the situation is no doubt far worse than the annually published yearbook figures show and so they ceased it's publication permanently.

and those left remaining are experiencing a huge grab of money from their congregations accounts and now are required to make pledges about how much they can contribute which i think is a last ditch effort by the governing body to squeeze more money out of the rank and file watchtower indoctrinated drones.. i think all this is happening because even those still loyally attending are hearing reports of these tremendous pay out that the watchtower is making to the victims of their self serving policies that put young ones at great risks so that even the rank and file don't want to contribute to pay court costs and so are withholding giving contributions to a very great extent.

Can some one please explain Deuteronomy 23:12-13

at a bible study when i was younger i read this scripture out loud and totally did with a straight face realising what they were talking about halfway through it.

i think i start reading in verse 12 "when evening falls, he should wash with water, and then he may return to the camp at sunset.+ 12 a private place* should be designated for use outside the camp, and there is where you should go.

13 a peg should be part of your equipment.

Israelites departing from their encampment after a few years, remember they were instructed to set up camp in the wilderness on four sides. So the day comes when it's time to pull up tents and go for a walk. (Moses): Friends when you leave watch your step, there's a lot of sh--t out there. So everyone head north west and stay within the markers and cover your mouth , it may smell. And please watch your kids, the last encampment some of the kids wondered out in the no zone and became ill..Also our next stop we will only use cow and sheep dung for cooking no more human dung, and when you go out to relieve yourself please please dig down 3-4 feet and cover your crap the flies were terrible in our last camp. The whole story is funny as hell, God does have a sense of humor...

I guess god wasn't aware of the barrel toilets..Serving in Vietnam our base camp 30-50 thousand men, our toilets the old 30 gallon barrel. It served it purpose but the guy who had to duty to burn the waste each day, holy crap. A funny story, Christmas 1967 the Bob Hope show. It wasn't safe for the Bob Hope show in our area (1st CAV) so we flew to a Air force base to see his show, when we landed we couldn't believe they had paved streets and flushable toilets. The guys stood there just flushing the toilets and watching the water drain. My point, that was one year with that type of toilet arrangement. I know they didn't have flushable toilets back then , but to dig holes in the desert and do your business with a few thousand folks near by and they are doing the same and for 40 years. no way...Veterans if any here , welcome home.....

Faded for almost 10 years and still getting random calls

hi all, just wondering if anyone is in the same boat.

wifey and i dropped off the face of the jw planet almost a decade ago and still get 3 or 4 visits a year mostly when we are not dressed or expecting visitors.

it's really annoying because we are both wondering why they don't get the hint already.. we don't want to move because we really enjoy where we live and both have careers that keep us in the area.. i've asked politely that they stop calling but like the "godfather" they keep "pulling me in.".

Christmas is just around the corner and if you really want to get rid of them, put up a christmas tree and they will figure you folks went over to the dark side. And if they drop by give them a candy cane and wish them a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year....Or you can tell them it's BS and you will not have to put up with their BS.....Good luck!!!!

Biblical incidents that bothered me.

i wanted to discuss the (supposed) biblical events that disturbed me a lot when i was a jw.

these incidents were just read and discussed in the kingdom hall as if these are normal and justified, which clearly weren't.

perhaps this led to my awakening.

Why would 1/3 of the Angels in heaven follow Satan, unless heaven sucked. They were booted from heaven and offered what by Satan? Was it resentment of us (human), don't make sense. OK so Satan was power hungry, but 1/3 of all the angels is a large number to follow another blowhard..Maybe if he and 12 followers were kicked out of heaven, ok I might believe but 1/3 no way......

GOD: Adam you will be a screw up, you and EVE. "I know what's in your heart" and if I don't get rid of you two and create another, the world will go to sh---t. Sorry buddy I know what's in your heart and it stinks..

Superpower after perfection?

there is much speculation about our perfect life ahead.

a big way jw's are wrong is they do not allow for the human need to specualte on this life ahead.

except for governing body, no one else can speculate.

How about the 70 Virgins, oh hell that's the wrong religion but the power to talk with my dog and he answer back that would be a great pet....JUst think I could become faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Why is that power so familiar...
